ARCHBISHOP JONATHAN BLAKE IS INNOCENT - HE HELPED STOP A PAEDOPHILE

In 2016, I, with the support of my loved ones, and of families, whose children had been abused, campaigned to stop a paedophile having any further access to children. I did this by writing alone, on my blog, and to the authorities. It is a cause of immense relief and peace that we succeeded. Children still remain utterly vulnerable to the predatory wiles of paedophiles, and those, like myself, who do their utmost to save children from abuse, when all else has failed, can be punished for doing so, by our nation's flawed systems. This outrageous obliquity must be corrected. I took a stand against evil. It would have been morally, religiously, socially and legally wrong to have taken any other course of action. Because I had chosen to represent myself, we did not face legal costs and we were able to celebrate for a year of happiness, sharing  new adventures ( scroll down to read all the wonderful things we did together) . Thank you to all those whose messages of love and support have uplifted us and blessed us.

The Metropolitan Police issued a false and defamatory press release, concerning my conviction, which they had to revise, for which they have apologised and which they have now withdrawn. Many respectable media groups withdrew their initial defamatory articles that had been based on the police report, as a result. None of the quality press carried the false reports. The Times wanted to publish an accurate account, but were blocked from doing so by the reporting restrictions. The less reputable groups continue to publish the false information. I am powerless to stop them,  because the restraining order and the reporting restrictions prevent them having access to the facts and I don't have the money to sue them for defamation.

This is a longer version of my story....

I knew a paedophile had abused more than several children. Over a two year period, I was involved in a campaign to ensure the paedophile was given no more access to children. The context was complex and I had to take considerable risks, along with families of children, who had been abused by him, to achieve this. Legal action was taken against me to stop me. Reporting restrictions and a restraining order were put in place, preventing any information about the case being known and preventing me continuing my campaign. I was arrested four times, spent four days and three nights in police cells, was interviewed for 13 hours and threatened with prison.

I was charged originally with harassment and convicted at Bexley Magistrates Court in December 2015 and completed a 140 hour community hour sentence. I appealed immediately and my conviction for harassment was finally quashed, after a year of many court appearances, on appeal, at Woolwich Crown Court in December 2016 and the restraining order was lifted. Some newspaper reports stating that I was convicted of harassment are therefore entirely false.

During 2016, I had no option but to continue to blog, to stop the paedophile from continuing to have access to children. I liaised throughout with the LADO structures, with the police investigating the paedophile and with the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, as well as with the families of children who the paedophile has abused.

My blogging succeeded in raising the necessary awareness and created a network between the victims that put concerted pressure on the authorities.  The result was that we achieved our critical aim of ensuring the paedophile did not have access to children anymore.

Because of my continued blogging, despite the fact it had protected children, I was convicted on February 13th, 2017 at Woolwich of four counts of breaching the restraining order imposed upon me in 2015, but subsequently lifted in 2016.

It was not a fair trial. I was not allowed to present my full defence, not allowed to read my statement or give it to the jury to read, not allowed to cross examine and was not able to call my witnesses. Of 434 pages of defence material, I was only permitted to give 24 to the jury. My main witness had been referred to counselling, having been directly intimidated by a prosecution witness. My second witness had submitted a statement, but could not attend on the trial date. A juror was found to have a connection with the case, but was not asked to stand down.

I applied to the Court of Appeal for permission to appeal and applied for transcripts to substantiate the grounds for appeal. Shockingly, the court would not allow me to obtain transcripts, and even more shockingly the Court of Appeal refused permission to appeal, in the absence of the transcripts. When I spent days preparing over 500 pages of appeal documents for the European Court of Human Rights, they wrote back saying I hadn't included a particular form so they had destroyed all the documents and I would have to start again. Justice....no way, that is a privilege reserved for the rich, the powerful and the corrupt.

In December, 2016, I wrote to the Truth Project of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse about the danger of reporting restrictions and restraining orders being used to obstruct those struggling to protect children from abuse.

A selection of the messages I have received from family, friends, members of the public and clergy.

You brave, courageous and wonderful man. To stand up for the truth in the face of suppression and oppression is truly an act of a pure heart.
--
You have my fullest support always. God works through men like you. Keep up the good work!
--
Thank God there are brave enough people around like you to take action against atrocious people.
--
What an absolute nightmare that you were left with no choice but to put yourselves on the line in this way to safeguard the children. There is no doubt that you are being the best and most caring of Bishops and know that you will always shine a light of righteousness to an unjust situation. But It is unbelievable  that you have been targeted for protecting children from danger and are  being sanctioned for daring  to share truths about real circumstances.  And outrageous that you are having to be restrained in so many ways for exposing the ongoing abuse.
--
I am proud to be part of a church that has you as our Archbishop . You are and always have been the most honourable, kind and caring person and we could not have a better person to lead us and I would not want anyone else to do so.
--
It is absolutely right that you should speak out against child abuse and identify the perpetrators. There have been too many cases where institutions have hidden abuse cases and they are now coming to light, not just churches but a variety of organisations.  It is secrecy that perpetuates such abuse. If people do not speak out then the abuse continues. Well done for speaking out for those who cannot speak for themselves. Be uplifted that you have saved others from further abuse. The institutions of GB are shown to be centres of abuse  now and historically and the time has come to uncover and speak out. This allows victims to be empowered and to understand that they are blameless.
--
As for all who work and fight for justice be it, personal, professional or societal, energy is needed and courage of conviction essential.  Your words reflect a lightness and a freedom reborn in the fires of truth. For who you are and what you do, we are all blessed in your service. Much love and many blessings to you and your family dear Archbishop.
--
Thank you for being brave for these poor abused children . Be proud. I know you always speak out where others would rather bury things.
--
To be falsely accused is unbearable and a lesser person would have been on their knees by now.   There is always a cost to standing up - sadly the cost is often weighed up against standing up which often leads to things not being addressed.
--
Oh God bless you. Truth always conquers Jonathan. Well done for doing the right thing. Frankly the police thing appalls me. You have a friend in me in this struggle. Take comfort in the fact that in the court of God you have done justice to yourself for doing the right thing. That is the most important court for all of us in the end.

CHILD PROTECTION WARNING - PAEDOPHILES

Jimmy Savile demonstrated certain traits that are common among skilled paedophiles that it is vital for the public to appreciate.

They believe in themselves and their right to abuse.
They are highly manipulative.
They enjoy deceiving people.
They are adept at knowing what to say and how to say it, to gain the response they want.
They are arrogant, self satisfied and grow ever more confident, the more who fall prey to their devices.
Like Savile, in the end, playing the public becomes a sort of sick sport.
And the more they can bring on side, the more they can taunt their victims, laughing at their inability to do a thing about it, burying them into silence and further humiliation.

For the Savile's of this world, who carve out for themselves a false public persona, children are there for the taking, at their whim and fancy.

However, for the paedophile that I helped manage to stop, there is a crucial difference.

Because of what I and others managed to achieve, he is not working with children. He will never work with children.

However, he may encounter children along life's way. That is a great worry, particularly for parents who may unwittingly allow him to have contacts with their children, unaware that he is an abuser.

I cannot name him or identify him because there are, at the moment, unjustly and wrongly, reporting restrictions.

So it is important to enable the public to be able to protect their children. An important first step is that they need to understand the way child protection structures work.

Often, with paedophiles, there is insufficient evidence to gain convictions through the courts, not least because of the desperate vulnerability of the victims and because of the highly complex, brutal, unpredictable and flawed nature of criminal proceedings.

However, if there is sufficient evidence held by the authorities, often from numerous sources and involving numerous children, that an individual has abused children, then a decision can be taken, never to allow that person to work with children again. It is a statutory decision that is not published, nor any of the evidence that has led to it being taken. That means that the public are completely unaware of it and the paedophiles never have to admit to it. There are many such individuals at large, banned from working with children. They are free to explore any career paths that don't involve children.

The ban on them working with children is only revealed if they try to do so. Organisations working with children must ask for an enhanced DBS certificate, when the ban is highlighted. Knowing this, paedophiles make sure they pursue career paths that don't involve children and no-one need ever be the wiser about what the authorities know about them.

Parents need to be on their guard therefore, highly vigilant for indirect clues and indicators that a person may in fact be under a ban. If one looks carefully at situations, they are not too hard to find, but you have to be looking and you have to understand the way that the systems and paedophiles work.

Regarding the paedophile I helped stop, we are watching him like a hawk.

He knows that reporting restrictions have provided him, at the moment, with anonymity and a certain immunity.

However, if he should ever try to work with children again, or if we discover he has inveigled his way into the company of children again, the court has explained to me how I can immediately take action to protect them from him.

It's only by working together that we can protect our children.

Keep aware. Don't be fooled. Stay on guard. Look out for those hidden clues and keep your children safe.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is a stark and sobering fact that so many people throughout history have suffered and are suffering unjustly at the hands of the so called 'justice' system.

From those who have been falsely accused, to those who have languished in prison for decades, to those whose lives have been taken from them, who have effectively been murdered by the state, by the courts, by the lawyers and by the juries that wrongly convicted them.

It's easy, for those unaffected, to be blase about such suffering, almost in the glib manner that innocent casualties of war are scooped up in the permissive phrase, 'collateral damage'.

In time the truth can prevail. However, this is of little use for those whose lives were taken from them, who were blighted or whose lives were stolen by incarceration.

The one saving grace, is that those who know, 100%, that they are innocent and that they have been acting for the good of others, like myself, and those whose family and friends know this also, are able to accommodate whatever indignities and suffering have been meted out to them, with the firewall of confidence, that love, truth and justice is on their side. That is why the peaceful martyrs of history, who have been unjustly convicted, have been able to die, at the hands of their accusers, with such grace.

So here I place an incomplete list in whose company I am proud to be placed. It is incomplete, because there is no exhaustive list yet compiled, nor, in fact could there be. There are countless others who are unknown victims of injustice, for whom truth never manage to prevail, who are forgotten or even unknown and so unrecorded.

So these names, while each bearing a story of unjust suffering, are also symbols pointing beyond themselves to the 'collateral damage' of  imperfect and dangerously flawed judicial systems.

I AM PROUD OF MY WRITING, FOR JESUS’S SAKE, THAT HAS HAD ME FOUND INNOCENT IN HEAVEN, BUT TWICE A CRIMINAL ON THE EARTH. THE FIRST IN 1990 WHEN I WROTE A BIBLICAL TEXT ON THE HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT IN PEACEFUL PROTEST ABOUT THE BOMBING OF YOUNG IRAQI RECRUITS DURING THE FIRST GULF WAR. THE SECOND, IN 2016 WHEN I WROTE ON MY BLOG, TO ALERT THE PUBLIC ABOUT A PAEDOPHILE, AND WAS SUCCESSFUL IN FORCING THE AUTHORITIES TO STOP HIM HAVING ACCESS TO CHILDREN. THERE WAS ALMOST A THIRD! IN 1997, WHEN I WAS ARRESTED FOR NAILING MY PROPOSALS FOR REFORM OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND ON THE DOOR OF CANTERBURY CATHEDRAL. WORDS ARE POWERFUL MESSAGES THAT CHALLENGE  CORRUPTION, CONFRONT THE WICKED AND CREATE A BETTER WORLD. JESUS IS THE WORD OF GOD AND HIS FOLLOWERS ARE CALLED  TO COMMUNICATE HIS WORDS,  IRRESPECTIVE OF THE COST.
