The birth we should be far more concerned about

The royal baby needs no attention, resource or media coverage. She is one of the most materially advantaged on the planet. The public's fawning is intrusive and panders to humanity's weakness for vicarious living. People fail to take responsibility for their own lives and moral mandate, instead distracting themselves with celebrity, royalty and the wealthy. Whereas the baby girl born on the migrant rescue boat, represents all that should be occupying our attention, challenges us to share our resources more liberally and exposes the media's appetite for the trivial, rather than reporting on the pressing need for international economic, social and political reform.
